Lisa Trotta has worn many hats in her fifty-two years around the sun, but is currently a photographer/artist who researches art as a hobby. She is a dark humor aficionado whose photographic work explores serious issues such as body image, human rights, and the plight of marginalized groups, often with a feminist perspective. Her current long-term project is about the female gaze, body, aging, and being true to oneself.
Lisa has exhibited her artwork at Rockville General Hospital Art Gallery, Capitol Community College, Arts Center East (fka Vernon Arts Center), Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery at Manchester Community College (MCC), Kehler Lidell Gallery, MCC on Main, Silpe Gallery at Hartford Art School, and Joseloff Gallery at the University of Hartford.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Art in Art History and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography from the University of Hartford, where she graduated in May, 2024. When Lisa is not creating art, she enjoys reading and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
The artist lives a quiet life in Enfield, Connecticut.
